Q) How do I get more information about the island?
A) When you make your reservation with us, we send out a very informational packet with all the phone numbers, and schedules, etc. that you will need to have a fun and relaxing vacation
Q) Where do we buy groceries and supplies?
A) There are two restaurants and two small markets on the island. We suggest to get your groceries on
the mainland, before coming over to the island.
A) You can order them ahead of time by faxing an order to the store and they will have it packed and ready for boat travel when you pick it up.
B) You can order ahead of time and have groceries delivered to the island and put in the house upon your arrival
C) You can shop yourself as the cab driver waits for you

Q) What is the closest airport to Upper Captiva Island?
A) RSW Ft. Myers Airport
Q) How long does it take to get from the airport to the island?
A) Driving time from Ft. Myers airport to the marina is approx 50 mins. (please allow longer if you need to stop for provisions)
Boat ride from marina to Upper Captiva Island is approx 20 mins.
Q) What are the costs for the taxi and water taxi and is there any additional costs that we should know ?
A) The taxi ride from the airport to the marina is $60 for up to 3 people, $8 per person for each additional. Payment is made to the driver
Water taxi is $35 per person, round trip with under 18 months N/C. Payment is made with the water taxi company.
No other costs, your rental amount includes the golf cart for the time of your stay
Q) Are there banks on the island?
A) No banks, no ATM, so bring cash and credit cards
Q) If there are no cars on Upper Captiva Island, how do we get around?
A) A 4 seat golf cart is provided with your rental home. Bicycles are available for rent on the island.
The island is small, you could walk everywhere if you wished to
Q) How old do you have to be to drive a golf cart on the island?
A) State of Florida law requires the driver to be over the age of 14. The safety of others while driving is the resposibility of the driver. A cart aggreement will need to be signed by the guests stating that they will be responsible for any damages that might occur.
A) No pets are allowed at Island Getaway without the owners approval and additional fees. Call or email for more information.
